Affiliate Marketing - Do You Have What it Takes to be Successful?

The truth is that 99% of all affiliates make less than $100 a month, while the other 1% earn staggering incomes from affiliate marketing.

The difference lies in the way these two groups perceive affiliate marketing as a business model. Those who make good money view it as a real business, while others see it as a "get-rich-quick" scheme and consequently, never make any money.

Much of your success will depend on your attitude and your ability to stay focused and not give in to fears of failure. Failure can not be an option. You have to visualize and expect success. Otherwise, it may never materialize.

If you can answer "Yes" to the following questions, then you have what it takes to be a successful affiliate marketer:

* Do you have the patience and persistence required to build an affiliate business?

* Can you accept the fact that you will make mistakes and may even lose money at first?

* Do you understand that it takes time to build a real business and you will not get rich overnight?

* Are you willing to invest time into your continuing education?

* Are you willing to invest time and money into advertising and tools to build your affiliate business?

You can make an absolute killing in affiliate marketing, but it will take some work. And if you're just starting out, you have a lot to learn. But as your knowledge and skills increase, so will your income. You will almost certainly make mistakes along the way, but you can't give up. Just learn from your mistakes and move on. Right now, you have two choices:

1. You can take the plunge and start building a real business online... Or

2. You can keep looking for that "magic bullet" that will make you rich overnight without you lifting a finger. Unless you win the lottery, there is no legal business model that will make rich overnight. If you find one, let me know...

Think about this: if you had started three months ago, what would your monthly income be right now? What will it be three months from now?

10 Essential Tips For A Web Designer

One of the toughest challenges facing any designer is the web page. There are perhaps millions of pages in the World Wide Web all jostling for attention. The question that is foremost is how you as a designer can make a difference.

Study the subject being featured. Visit as many sites as possible that cover the same as well as related topics. Make a list of what works and what doesn’t. Avoid using a design that is going to be uniform with others. Unless your pages are distinctive they are not going to work.

1.    Try and avoid run of the mill things like page counters, java text scrolling, flashing images, GIF images, signs which say “we are not ready.” Or, too many illustrations or animations, black grounds or fade ins.

2.    Create a design which coveys in a stylish way what it has to. Instead of using downloaded illustrations use original ones.

3.    Avoid things like heavy files or graphics. These will slow down your pages. GIF is better than JPEG files.

4.    Think of the target audience and subject being addressed when designing. The overall effect should be that of exclusivity.

5.    Avoid incorporating download plugins. While Flash is innovative and fun you will loose viewers if you don’t provide an HTML alternative.

6.    Design the pages so that they are not more than 50K.

7.    Remember the rule of thumb; a web page should not have more than three screens. And, ensure that the viewer does not have to scroll horizontally.

8.      Test your website pages with several browsers. Make sure they open quickly and completely. Do a reality check by asking a cross section of users to check the site. Usability checking will bring to the fore any mistakes made.

9.    Don’t use backgrounds with tiles or patterns it makes the design fussy and decreases readability. Avoid frames they make the pages difficult to book mark.

10.    Determine accurately the rules of creative design and ensure that you apply them. If you have links make sure they work. Limit page content. Pay attention to search engine optimization. Ensure that the design follows the content and is not a separate element. Maintain archives. Use innovative fonts and titles. The content should follow basic elements of style or a style sheet.

When designing the web page think about the site as a whole not each page separately.  There should continuity in design. Include a site map for easy navigation. Pay attention to imparting knowledge, include information on the subject of the site, give tips, make available how to articles as well as publications on the topic. The site and pages should be interactive without being a nuisance, so links must be well thought of and of practical use.

Keep in mind at all times the 5 golden principles of design: balance, rhythm, proportion, dominance, and unity.

Affiliate Programs: How To Choose The Best Program To Market

Major advances have been made in e-commerce and have given birth to one of the easiest ways of generating income online, marketing affiliate programs. There are many affiliate programs available for making money on the internet. If you are a website owner, promoting products and services through affiliate programs can be an excellent way to monetize your traffic. If you don't already own a website, you can still make money with affiliate programs.

A good affiliate program has many advantages. Choosing the wrong affiliate program to market can have an extremely negative impact on your business and it is very important that you choose your programs carefully. Here are a few of the best features you should look for in an affiliate program:

1. The affiliate program should have a good reputation for paying affiliates on time. There are some affiliate programs that cheat their affiliates by not paying them on time or not at all, do your best to avoid these programs.

2. The affiliate program should offer a wide variety of flash banners, popups, and image banners, that can be added to an affiliates' website. Providing marketing support in the way of promotional tools shows that an affiliate program is concerned with their affiliates success.

3. The affiliate program system should offer a variety of landing pages so that affiliates can set a different landing page for every text, banner, and ad links.

4. The affiliate program software should support a multi-tier commission structure.

5. The affiliate program should provide accurate affiliate stats. Providing a solid stats package gives affiliates the ability to track their campaigns, make necessary adjustments, and generate more sales.

6. The affiliate program owners should provide quick support for getting answers to questions in a timely manner.

Hopefully these tips will help you in choosing the very best affiliate programs to market for. There are many, many choices available to today's online affiliate marketer, make your decisions carefully!

How Affiliate Programs Work

If you look at the top online retailers in any industry sector, you shall immediately realize how affiliate programs are working to increase conversion rates. Almost all companies that were selected as the top 50 e-retailers in the ‘The Internet Retailer Best of the Web Top 50 Retail Sites’ have affiliate programs.

Affiliate programs are also recognized by terms such as “associate programs” or “publisher programs”. This is how affiliate programs work: You build a website for your own business, products and services, or with the sole purpose of promoting different types of gadgets or merchandise. You sign up with the affiliate program of a website and strategically place their link or banner on your website. A visitor to your website finds that the description of a particular product coincides with exactly what he has been looking for. He goes on to click through to the product manufacturer's website. Any visitor who purchases your affiliate partners product owing to your promotion, earns you a commission.

All websites want to have very high paying affiliate programs. It is a misconception that affiliates only promote computer software, like anti-spyware products, or gambling websites. Affiliate programs cater to all kind of businesses. You as an affiliate may earn as much as over $1 million per year or as less as $2 per week. Your earnings are directly proportional to the hard work, effectiveness of strategy and technique, and the number products you promote.  If you start out the right way, the sky is the limit!

Following are factors to consider in order to be part of the highest paying Internet Marketing Affiliate Programs:
•    Advertising space on your website is very valuable to you. Thus, selecting companies and retailers that not only pay you more for your services, but who offer a product that complements your website and is directly or indirectly related to your line of work.
•    If your website has been constructed with the very purpose of promoting other people's stuff, it is important to stick to one industry, for instance, do not showcase computer software or hardware with something as incongruous as products in health, weight loss, skin care and adult supplements. If the advertisement stands out like a sore thumb, your visitor may recognize it as an overt marketing tool and move on.
•    To effectively monetize space on your website, avoid catering to too many affiliates. A web page crowded with advertisements and banners will fritter away traffic.
•    A great review, with excellent content and attractive graphics would tempt visitors to click on the available link to visit your affiliate’s website to learn more, and maybe purchase the product too!
•    The placement of banners on your website must be above the fold, which is the area the user can see before scrolling down. Also, an advertisement placed at the top left corner would attract more attention than one that is placed towards the bottom. It should be worked into the design and almost appear to be an integral part of the website.

There are two ways of locating a company with high-paying affiliate programs. You may visit various websites running affiliate programs or simply search for quality affiliate programs through affiliate program directories.

Google Adsense Profits Mixed In With Affiliate Marketing

Are you a webmaster who needs funds to keep your website running?  Or is your website the only way for you to earn income?  Whichever you are, for as long as you are a webmaster or a web publisher and you need cash, affiliate marketing may work well for you.  With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily.  And if your website is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Google Adsense program as well?

Why Affiliate Marketing?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman’s products on your site.  But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.

Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant’s website and the other being the affiliate’s site.  In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate’s site.  The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into.  This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer’s ad on his site.  This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash.  Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method.  The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site’s visitor would only have to visit the advertiser’s site for them to gain money.  The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site.  A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program.  In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants.  The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products.  These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser’s website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences.  In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest.  The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site.  This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis.  The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount.  Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly.  Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits!  Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate.  For the merchant’s side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms.  For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites.  And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

Google Adsense Profits Mixed In With Affiliate Marketing Online

People unconsciously ignore ads, not because they aren’t interested in the products or services that are being offered, but a natural instinct to focus on the material they’re reading and block out “distractions”. Remember: they’re on the web to look for information. That can be a particular song they want to download, an article on their favorite celebrity, or a chicken recipe they can cook for dinner. They’re concentrating on that issue, and their minds are quickly filtering out whatever seems to intrude on that search. That includes the background noise of the room they happen to be surfing in, and the visual noise on the web page.

Ads are said to be “visual noise”, and ironically, the larger (and more obvious) the ad, the more likely it’ll be ignored. That seems to go against all instincts of advertising—bigger should be better, right? That may work on a highway, when a looming billboard will catch your either whether you plan to look or not, but on the Internet, there are just too many ads. As a gut-reaction, the eye skips over anything that looks like the “traditional” advertising banners, regardless of the text contained in them. That’s why if you look at the studies, 468 x 60 ads, and the 728 x 90 ads, actually get the lowest click through rate.

But the challenge of Adsense is to make people read the ad, and click on it. How do you accomplish that if the brain automatically dismisses your message as “junk”? Simple: by not looking like an ad, and then inserting yourself at the point where people would be most interested in what you say. Then, website viewers not only notice you, but see you as a valid solution (or at least, a possible solution) to a pressing problem.

The Color of Money

Traditional graphic design principles will tell you to use bright, contrasting colors to get somebody’s attention (it’s also called the “bright neon sign” phenomenon). But for Adsense, you get better results when you take the subtle approach and blend into the page that you’re on. Instead of looking like an ad, you are seen as a valid editorial content: as informative, helpful, and credible as the article they happen to be reading.

That’s why your ad background and its border colors should be the same color as the web page on which it’s located. If your website’s white, then your ad assumes that color; if it’s blue, then you know what shade to pick. This isn’t sneaky, it’s reader psychology. Advertisers in magazines have been doing it for years—not copying the color, but the font of the magazine pages. Readers are then more likely to continue reading the ad text rather than skipping it over it because it’s “not part of the page”. By the time they realize that it’s an ad, they’re intrigued by the benefit being offered (and if they aren’t, at least they know about you—much more than what you would have accomplished if the ad had been dismissed). By applying this principle to your Ad Sense, you get better results.

Another trick: use the standard blue color for your links, but make the advertiser’s URL (the domain name below the ad text) in a very unobtrusive color and size. Combine this trick with making the rest of your website content a non-traditional color that is not as noticeable as blue (for example, a dark green), and you have a more subtle way of drawing attention to your Adsense links. Readers will gravitate towards the link, thinking that it is a neutral and objective way of finding more information, and click. And you know what that means for Adsense revenues.

Location, Location, Location

As they say in business, location is the secret to success: be where your market needs you (and in this case, reads you). For example, avoid placing ads on the left or right periphery of the page: people don’t bother looking there, since the webtext flow is from top to bottom. Unless a photo or other graphical element pulls their eyes to the side, there is no reason for them to look beyond those margins. Plus, Internet users are conditioned to look for content in the center— so you also have to be in the center to be deemed “valid content”.

This rule is particularly true for people who have a very specific question or concern and found the page by typing key words into a search engine. They are not interested in anything outside that query. To get their attention, place a large rectangular ad above your content (for example, the top center column) but below the title. Then, choose a message that is related to the key words that were probably used. For example, if it’s a website about “widgets”, and your article is a review on the latest “blue widgets” then Ad Sense on “Find Cheap Widgets Now!” would have a high percentage of clicks.

Why does placing Ad Sense underneath the title work so effectively? Because there is an immediate association with content. Your website title summarizes the topic or concern, the text expounds on it, and your Ad Sense is sandwiched within those two very important elements. You would not get this kind of click through if you placed it above the title, where it’s perceived as literally “outside” the topic and hence, irrelevant or secondary.

Since Google allows you to put three ad blocks, where do you put the other two? At the end of the content, preferably above the Author’s Box. This reaches the educated, and perhaps slightly more cynical reader, who had preferred to read up on the topic and is now ready to make an intelligent, informed decision about what products or services to buy. You can place a third ad block at the side if you have a short article or are concerned about cluttering the site. Otherwise, put it within the content, catching visitors who may be quickly bored with the article and may not reach the end of it, and is willing to “click away” from the site (and hopefully to the advertisers).

Google Keywords Tool Guide

If you have thought about starting your own website or already have one, and have done any research at all, you have read about the importance of keywords. Everything on the web is driven by keywords. It’s the fuel the Internet runs on.

One of the ways to get great traffic to your website is through the Google Adwords program. You select the keywords you want to bid on and set up the budget you want to use to get traffic based on those keywords from websites that utilize the Google Adsense program and other sources.

There is a tool to help you choose the best keywords to bid on that you definitely need to know about. I just learned about it from a friend, so we are going to learn how to use it together. Open a new browser window and copy and paste this address into your address bar.

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

If you are not sure about all of the terms used in association with keywords and Google’s Adwords program, click that very first link that says, “keywords for your ad campaigns”. You can use that as a guide if we get into unfamiliar territory.

In that first paragraph is a link titled, “Learn More”, that gives a more detailed explanation about using the Google Keywords Tool. In this article, I am going to try to give you the information in layman’s terms to make it easier to understand.

As with anything, you should also at some point read the terms of service. It is always a good idea to read the terms of service for any program you are about to use. But we will skip that step for now.

We all think we know which keywords we want to and are targeting with our website. I just had a humbling experience. I have been at this for a long time and have a lot of experience in optimizing websites for keyword content. However, I just clicked the tab at the Google Keyword Tool that says, “Site-Related Keywords “, to extract keywords from one of my own websites and can see that it is not optimized for the keyword I would have chosen.

You may want to do this first. Put in your URL and let it pull out the keywords it finds to be most relevant to your website. You might be as surprised as I was. Now I am going to be re-writing some of the text content at my website before I bid on any Google Adwords. Without the Google Keyword Tool, I would have likely just wasted money.

Make sure your website is optimized for the keywords that you wish to target by analyzing it with the Google Keyword Tool before bidding on your Google Adwords.

Now, using the other tab, “Keyword Variations”, you can type in one keyword phrase or keyword per line and it will give you suggestions as to other keywords and phrases you can bid on that are related to your topic. (I like to type in one keyword or phrase at a time)

The suggestions the Google keyword Tool creates for you are based on statistical data Google compiles from the numerous searches that occur daily through their search engine, so those keywords and phrases are more likely to produce targeted traffic to your website.

As you type in each keyword or phrase and check the results the Google Keyword Tool gives you, look over to the right. You can add the keywords and phrases you might like to bid on. Create your list as you go. You can always edit it down to a few later on.

Once you have your list of keywords and phrases you might want to bid on, you can login to your Google Adwords account and check to see how much it will cost you for each of them. Then you can decide how to spend your budget wisely. Nothing replaces good research. The Google Keyword Tool takes a lot of the guesswork out of buying Google Adwords and I applaud them for creating this great tool.

Now, what they do not say anywhere at the Google Keyword Tool website, is that you can use this tool to analyze your competitor’s websites as well. Go to Google and type in your targeted keyword or phrase. Copy the URL of the top 10 results. Analyze each of them using the “Site Related Keywords” tab at the Google Keywords Tool.

By doing this, you will see what keywords and phrases their websites are optimized for. If you want to compete with them, you need to optimize your website in a similar way and you may want to start bidding on keywords and phrases that match those that were pulled from competing websites.

Follow success and it will follow you. Do what successful people are doing and you are likely to also achieve success. The Google Keyword Tool can help you do that.

Adsense Web Tool: Increasing Your Adsense Revenues Starting Today!

There was an individual named Joel Comn who once making only $30 daily with Adsense, a program where it allows you to make money when visitors of your site are clicking on the advertising links that are placed in the host’s website. Until one day, he decides to have a try of other ways of increasing his Adsense earning.

After he had used several Adsense tools, Joel doubled his commission from $30 to $60 daily. But would you believe that his commission actually sky-rocketed for more than $500 per day? His earnings climbed up, making it $18,343 last December 2004 and it is quite possibly that his revenues may keep climbing after that period. It sounds impossible, but an individual have done it.

Adsense Basics

Joel Comn is now one of the successful Internet marketers that derive some of their revenues through the Adsense program. But you need to keep in mind that you can not earn as much as $18,000 per month if you will just allow Adsense to place its ads on your website. There are things you need to consider in order to make as much money as Joel did.

You need to apply for an Adsense account. Remember that you must be investing in your own domain so that your application will not be rejected. Make sure that your site’s contents are organized and be viewed as professional.

After your site has been accepted, Adsense will give you a code that you will place on your website, enabling them to start placing ads on your site that are with relevance to its content. For instance, if your site is about air-conditioning, Adsense might place ads that deal with different kinds and models of air-conditioning equipment.

Adsense Web Tool

Part of Adsense program is the use of Adwords, or relevant words that is integrated with Adsense advertisement. In order to attract more visitors that are generating impressions or “clicks” to the ads in your site, you must let Adsense know what Adwords are relevant and related to the contents of your webpage. In this case, the Adsense Web Tool can help you.

Adsense Web Tools provide you with Adsense HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) ad code to place on the web pages which you want to display the ads. The Adwords that will be generated using the Web Tool are based on the keyword analysis, word frequency, and the overall link structure of the web. Adsense will have an idea what your webpage is all about, and it can precisely match the advertisement on each page.

Maybe you will wonder how Adsense know what appropriate Adwords needs to be displayed in your site. If Adsense has spidered your site, it automatically knows what Adwords are to be displayed in your site. However, if your site has not spidered yet, Adsense makes use of your site’s URL first to decide what Adwords are appropriate. This is where your own domain will be important. You must invest on your own domain. Keep in mind that it has a significant impact on your Adsense revenues.

It is important that you make use of Adsense Web Tool so that you can maximize your possible earnings with Adsense. Do not rely alone on the displayed ads. Remember that you need to make it “clickable” to every Internet user that will visit your site. Start right and earn as much as $18,000 a month through Adsense!

Google Adsense: How Formatting And Color Schemes Can Make Or Break Your Click Count!

With Google adsense even the slightest adjustment on your website can make a world of a difference. Adsense requires little effort at all on your part, but the changes you can control can vary the amount of clicks you receive. That is why the formatting and colors you use for the ad will allow you to collect a higher income and raise your adsense revenue.

When placing the Google adsense it is crucial you place it directly in the heart of your content. You want the ad to be noticed but at the same time not take away from the content on your website. You want the adsense to compliment your content, not BE your content. Square and wide rectangular ads tend to fair the best and receive the most clicks for people.

You want to place your adsense above the main fold to maximize your clicks. The higher up on the page your ads are the more likely people will click on them. This is because not everyone reads all the content on your website, but by putting your adsense towards the top it is one of the first things they see.

Placing objects around the ads are a sure way to increase your adsense revenue as well. If you place images next to or above, the ads the images will draw the readers’ eyes towards your ads with more potential for people to click on them. You do not want to place too many images as this will drop the quality of your page, but placing one or two images will look professional and serve its purpose at the same time.

When adjusting the background color and border color of your google adsense box, you don’t want to make it stand out from the rest of the page. Have the background and border colors be very similar, if not the same color, as the background of your webpage itself. The color of the ad link URL should always be a lighter shade than that of the text. If the text is black then make your adlink a light gray shade. All in all your goal is to make the adsense have the same color scheme as your website has to help it blend in as oppose to looking like an ad that stands out.

It is important that you pay attention to the formatting of your Google adsense and maybe even adjust it from time to time. Make sure to keep records of how you fair as far as clicks go if you do make an adjustment. Testing will help you find what works best for your website. While it may seem like a very little adjustment on your webpage, it will ultimately determine how many clicks you receive. The formatting and color schemes you use are a vital aspect towards your success with adsense.

An Adsense is a program designed by one of the most popular search engines, Google, to create income for your website. It is very much like an affiliate program that is delivered by Google on where you will display a text or image links where people visiting your website can click on.

You will make money in Adsense programs when people visiting your website clicks on the adsense program. Every click made by visitors in your website is equal to a specific amount of money. So, it is very important that you should generate targeted traffic into your website in order to make this work.

You may also place a Google search box in your website where your visitor can search for relevant text ads and will be displayed on your website. Another feature in the Google Adsense program is the Adsense referrals. Here, you can make money by displaying Google’s referral buttons in your website.

Application in Google Adsense is very easy. You just have to fill out an application form found in their website. Adsense is available for any websites except on pornographic websites and hate websites. Your contents should have a specific topic where Google Adsense will choose an adsense program related to the contents of your website.

All you need to apply is to have your own website.

Make sure that your website does not have any pornographic content, racism, or any other content that may offend some people. Joining in an Adsense program is fast, easy and most of all free.

Why join an Adsense program? The answer to this question is obvious: To make money at home. Adsense programs are free and relatively easy to join in one. You may think that having an Adsense program displayed in your website can lead people away. However, if you have a good content and an attractive website, you will be sure that those people will always come back and read more of your topics.

One great type of website for an adsense is a blogging website. A blogging website can generate you a lot of targeted traffic and also a lot of clicks in the Adsense program.

The placement of your Adsense program is also very important to generate clicks. Usually, you can place your Adsense program anywhere in your website. However, there is a specific placement to generate more clicks. For example, it has been found that placing your Adsense program at the top of the web page generates more clicks than that of web pages that places Adsense programs below their web page. Another way to generate clicks is to place your Adsense program near rich content areas. This is because people focus more in these areas and tends to click on them more.

An Adsense program can give you a lot of income opportunities if you do it right. Try to make your website score a high rank in order to qualify in Adsense programs. Adsense programs are also one of the easiest ways to generate extra cash. You just have to update your website from time to time in order to keep on creating more targeted traffic. Try to consider making a blog website, these types of website creates huge amount of targeted traffic and can virtually take care of itself.

Adsense – Still A Cash Cow?

With the advent of Google losing a court case (and a shed load of money) and the continued problem of click fraud the question is now on the tip of everyone’s tongue – “Is Google Adsense still the cash cow that it was?”.

In this article I’ll take a look at ways in which the average webmaster may still develop a successful Adsense business and how to use the up and coming Google witch hunt to your advantage.

There are currently two main problems that are facing Google, both of which are serious and could lead to the demise of both Adsense and Adwords.

The first and most serious problem is that of click fraud. For those of you who do not know click fraud is the act of clicking on your own (or a friends) ads in an attempt to generate artificial earnings.

This is such a problem for Google as it ensures that the value that Adwords purchasers gets is significantly less then they would want, thus ensuring that sooner or later they will just get up and walk away (with what remains of their advertising budget firmly clamped in their hand).

To remedy this problem Google have tried putting several rules in place such as not allowing the webmaster to show Adsense ads in auto surf sites (to name but one restriction).

The second problem that Google faces relates to content, notably the amount of original content which is out there.

The problem in this case is that many people have purchased article scraper software (software that you point at someone elses website and just shout ‘Fetch!’ – it then returns a document collection which is a complete rip off of the site).

This was already a problem before the advent of Adsense sites and with the continual chain of people chasing high value keywords it has become worse; It is now possible to search for a given phrase on Google and return nothing but duplicate content for the first few pages of search engine results.

In order to address this problem Google has been modifying it’s algorithm to effectively punish people with duplicate content, the extent to which an individual site is ‘penalized’ is currently a matter for debate.

So, given Google is about to launch a witch hunt looking for sites with nothing but duplicate content and for people performing click fraud what can you do?

After all there are so many people out there using site generation tools that Google can trace and/or document obfustication technology (you’ve seen the ads – “We can make your one original article into 300 and Google will never know!” – yep, and anyone who visits your site will just find drivel with spelling errors or contextual mistakes).

Step 1.
If you must use site generation software make sure you find one that leaves no trace behind itself, ask yourself – ‘If I was looking at the source code from the generated page how would I know that it’s machine generated?’

Step 2.
Don’t use site scraping tools, they're immoral and a waste of your time

Step 3.
Do include RSS feeds into your pages, they add fresh content with no effort on your part (at least one of the site generation tools now supports this kind of functionality)

Step 4.
Don’t click on your own adverts, Google will can you in the blink of an eye

Step 5.
Do get incoming links from established sites (in the same area as your niche content)

Summary.
If you are at all serious about creating an Adsense income you need more than one site and so it is inevitable that you will use site generation tools (because there aren’t enough hours in the day for you to create the amount of pages by hand), by all means use these tools but use them ethically.

When using site generation tools ensure that they allow you to add multiple blocks of Adsense /Clickbank /Ebay code to each page (it saves you a lot of time) and that it performs search engine optimization for you (both on page and off page).

You should also take the time to write some of your own original content – like this or perhaps pay a ghost writer to create a batch of articles for you (don’t forget to ad your bio box at the bottom of everything you write).

To answer the initial question, yes, it is still possible to make LOTS of money from Google – you just need to be careful.

The Benefits of Advertising with Adsense

Adsense is a great marketing method that can be quite effective for your business. It involves advertisements for your business being posted on the websites of others. In a world where millions access the internet every day, this type of marketing is very effective. It has the potential of generating more traffic to your website. A percentage of that traffic will likely result in an increase of sales for your business.

It is less expensive that other types of marketing because you only pay when a consumer clicks your link from one of the websites you are advertising on. This is a great opportunity for new businesses, small businesses, those on a low marketing budget, and larger businesses that are looking at ways to market their products or services while cutting out unnecessary costs.

Take a moment to look at various websites on the internet. I am sure you will find several sites that offer advertisement links for other businesses. You will also notice they look professional and attractive. Are you ready to give advertising with Adsense through Google a try? The process is very simple. You will need to go to www.AdWords.com. Here you will complete a detailed application. It is important to use relevant keywords for your products or services as this is how matches will be made to relevant websites who will be posting your ads. Google Adsense offers great tutorials to help you select the right keywords for your business.

Google Adsense allows you to create your own ads just like you would for any other type of advertising campaign. They program allows you to format for specified languages and geographic locations. Once the ads are posted on various websites consumers can choose to click on the link and be directed to your website. This is the only time you will pay an advertisement host website. When you set up your ads, you will decide how much you are willing to pay per click on your advertisement. You will also have the opportunity to change and edit your advertisements any time you like. If the advertising is going well you might be able to increase the amount of sites you advertise on.

There is a five dollar activation fee for each new business to set up an account on Google Adsense. Most credit cards can by used for payment as can Paypal and Post-Pay. There is no minimum dollar amount you have to pay each month. Again, you only pay for when consumers click on your link from a website you are advertising on. If they access a webpage with your advertisement on it and read it but don’t click on it, then you pay nothing.

As with most other types of business, there are scammers out there waiting to take advantage. Click fraud is a problem with Adsense advertising. Click fraud involves setting up a system to click on advertisement links or doing it manually to earn more money from the business that is advertising. Another reason click fraud is done is to damage competitors by clicking on their ads, knowing they will have to pay out more money. If you participate in Google Adsense for your advertising needs, it is a good idea to purchase Click Fraud software for your own protection. Google also works very hard to monitor such fraudulent activities.

Adsense is a great opportunity for you to advertise your business while not spending a great deal of money on it. It is very effective because the internet is visiting by millions of consumers each and every day. To get the most out of Adsense advertising with Google, make sure you purchase Click Fraud software to minimize your risk of being taken advantage of by those out to make money at your expense or competitors wanting to see you waste earnings on high marketing bills.

How To Make Money Online With Google

The general public probably best recognizes Google as the web’s premier search engine. But many seasoned webmasters and marketers know Google as a virtual cash-cow...earning them money 24/7/365. Why should they have all the fun...learn how you too, can earn money from Google.
The general public probably best recognizes Google as the web’s premier search engine. Google’s dominance on the Internet can’t be denied or argued. But perhaps what many people don’t realize, Google has become a premium revenue source for many webmasters and online marketers.

It has became a virtual cash-cow for those who have mastered Google with their marketing techniques. They know a number one spot for a competitive keyword or keyword phrase in Google will usually prove very lucrative, bringing in a steady automatic income.

Regardless of what the other search engines will attest, seasoned webmasters also know getting a top placement in Google will usually bring more traffic than a top placement in MSN or Yahoo combined! Getting a number one spot in Google for a popular keyword can prove very lucrative, earning a webmaster revenue 24/7/365.

Therefore, webmasters have to optimize their sites and keywords for Google if they want to turn a healthy profit. Optimizing your webpages for Google is a complete industry in itself, what you really have to keep in mind, besides on-page optimization like keyword density, meta tags, etc. is that Google places a great amount of weight on off-page links and anchor text.

Google ranks all webpages on the Internet by a scale of PR0 to PR10, higher is better. One-way links from high PR sites related to your keyword or website theme is highly valued and will usually move your site up on the SERPs (Search Engine Return Pages). This is the major factor why ‘article marketing’ is all the rage and why articles are great building blocks for getting top keywords and consequently extremely important for earning you revenue, directly or indirectly from Google.

There are countless strategies for getting those top keyword listings in Google. But in my opinion, one of the best experts on the net for website SEO is Brad Callen. His ‘SEO Elite’ is top quality SEO software and his soon to be released ‘Keyword Elite’ will greatly impact how keywords are used by webmasters and marketers.

Once you have gained significant traffic, you can use Google AdSense to earn revenue from your site or blog. Google AdSense lets webmasters and bloggers earn advertising revenue by placing the AdSense code on their sites. These can be text links, images, or banners.

These AdSense ads will be directly related to your page’s keywords. Top or highest paying keywords will naturally return more revenue. AdSense ads are extremely targeted and is an effective way of earning money from your site. Learn more:

One of the undisputed top experts on using Google AdSense is Joel Comm. A seasoned marketer who has created some well informed products on Adsense—mainly his Google AdSense Secrets ebook and courses.

Of course, Google gives marketers another option, you can buy your way onto Google’s first page results by using Google AdWords. This is the popular Pay-Per-Click advertising system offered by Google. Perfecting the AdWord system is an art form in itself; do it right and you can create very lucrative cash streams. Do it wrong, and you can create your very own personal money pits!

Therefore, it is strongly advised that you learn more about AdWords before you risk your hard earned cash. One of the best sources for Google AdWords is still Perry Marshall’s excellent ebook ‘Google Cash’. It will give you all the basics on Google AdWords.

Just about everyone knows about Google’s two popular programs AdWords and AdSense, but there are other ways marketers can earn money promoting Google products or services. Google has started to list products that an affiliate can promote through the AdSense program. You can earn money by promoting the Firefox browser with the Google search box and you can also promote Google’s AdSense program to other webmasters and earn money by referring new users.

The next logical step for Google is to offer more products through its AdSense affiliate program. Many seasoned marketers are promoting Google’s AdSense, it would be counterproductive for Google not to take advantage and offer other products/services through this marketing system. Its own products or other closely related third party products. Many marketers would gladly promote products under the Google banner mainly because any Google branded product would be an easy sale for most affiliate marketers.

Google pays monthly but you do have to earn $100 before they send you a check. Getting a check from Google is somewhat special, no matter what the amount, show your family and friends a check from Google and their eyes will pop open! If you’re an online marketer you may get quite a few larger checks from different online companies but nothing will get you the respect a Google check does. Just goes to show how much Google has permeated into our everyday lives.

Not that you need it, but it’s just another reason to start earning money for Google. Try some of the programs listed above and you will be smiling all the way to... now, where the heck is that Google Bank?

Google Adsense Policies

Google Adsense is a program that allows businesses to advertise on other websites. They business only pays the host website when a consumer clicks on the link to take them to their website. This is a very effective way of advertising because of the millions of people who access the internet every day. It is also a low cost marketing method that businesses of all sizes can benefit from. Websites are eager to host advertisements for other businesses because it doesn’t cost them anything and they earn money for doing it when consumers choose to follow the link from a particular advertisement.

If you are interested in using Google Adsense to advertise then you need to make sure you are aware of their policies. This will make the process smoother for you and eliminate any misunderstandings down the road. This can be a great money maker or advertising tool, but only when it is used correctly.

There is no long term contract with Google Adsense. You can choose to leave the program at any time. You will need to provide written notice by mail or email to Google. All ads will be removed from your website within ten days. They also have the right to discontinue your business from the program at any time for not following their policies. You do have the right to file an appeal if your account is canceled. This gives you the opportunity to discuss the situation with a Google Adsense representative.

You must be approved by Google Adsense before you are allowed to be a part of the program either as a host site for advertisements or to post your ads. The owner of the website must be at least 18 years of age. The approval process involves an application that you complete with information on your website including keywords. You will have a response to your application within two days. Make sure it is completed entirely or your application will be denied.

All communications must take place with Google. This means if you have concerns or issues about an advertisement your business has on a website or about an ad you are hosting on your website everything goes through Google. The two businesses are not to discuss the issue between each other. Google does not guarantee a set amount of clicks or earnings for a host website. It also doesn’t guarantee any increase in traffic or sales for a business.

Google Adsense has the right to use the name of businesses participating in the program for presentations, marketing, and financial reports. Users of Google Adsense are required to pay for the amount of pay per clicks their ads received as outlined. Adsense accounts are non-transferable under any circumstances. They can’t be resold to another provider. A maximum of three ads per webpage can be displayed. Advertisements can’t be placed on webpages that don’t contain content for your website. A webpage can’t be used for the sole purpose of displaying ads to make money.

Click fraud is not acceptable at all by Google Adsense. It damages the reputation of the program and costs the advertisers a great deal of money. Any website hosting advertisements that is believed to be involved in Click Fraud will be banned from using the program. If you chose to use Google Adsense to advertise your business, protect it from Click fraud by purchasing Click Fraud software.

Google Adsense is a great opportunity for businesses to advertise their products and services on various websites and pay only for the number of consumers who click on the link to go to that businesses website. It is also a great way for a business to make money by hosting advertisements for other businesses. Understanding the policies of Google Adsense will help you determine if the program is right for you. It also helps the program work properly for all those involved in it.

The Ups and Downs of Pay-Per-Click Advertising for Personal Training

By Mikel Bruce

For some time now, pay-per-click (PPC) marketing has been used by new and experienced internet marketers who want to provide increased traffic to their website in a short space of time. This is still an effective form of advertising even though there are many other proven methods to generate traffic. PPC is an advertising service that is offered through the major search engines. To learn more about the PPC programs in general, they are offered through Google and Yahoo. The websites are
Google: https://adwords.google.com/
Yahoo: http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/as/

There are some definite ups and downs and reasons to consider PPC for a PT business and here is a list:
The Ups:

* The vast majority of new PT clients that are looking for trainers use the Internet as their primary resource. PPC gives you the chance to instantly tap into that potential.

* Since PT is a niche industry there is less competition and greater opportunities to advertise with PPC with a limited expenditure. If you live in a small town or city, your competition is even smaller and you could get a top spot with a keyword search for a very nominal investment.

* PPC campaigns can be adjusted and tweaked continually, allowing you to make immediate adjustments in real time.

* The set-up fees are nominal, starting at only $5.00 with Google Adwords.

* You only pay for results; when someone clicks on your advertisement.

* You can control your spending by limiting your daily investment to whatever level fits your budget.

The Downs:

* PPC is becoming more popular and competition is driving pricing up.

* Once someone clicks on your link and you pay for that traffic driven to your site, there is no guarantee that it will result in an actual lead for a new client. It is important that if you invest in PPC, your website is designed to take advantage of the traffic that comes to your site. The use of landing pages and email opt-ins are important and if you are not prepared to add these features to your website than PPC may be a waste of money.

* In order to take full advantage of PPC, it is important that you manage your PPC account and test and track results. Many of us are already spread thin and even when we do have the best intentions to build our business, we don’t make the time to follow through. PPC requires a fairly consistent commitment to follow through.

* If you do live in a densely populated area such as New York City, PPC will probably be very expensive in order to get on the first page for your keywords and if you are not on the first page you lose about 90% of searchers since most people don’t search beyond the first page.

The instant results are available with PPC if you spend the time to set up an effective campaign and take the time to do a thorough keyword analysis. This cannot be beaten in most other advertising mediums. Most of the top companies integrate PPC into their marketing structure because it is perceived as being very effective. As a trainer, you are probably on tight marketing budgets, but in order to grow your business it is important that you do invest in marketing. Mikel Bruce with WebFlexor PT Websites (www.websitesforpt.com) recommends considering PPC if you can commit to investing the time to make it work. Learning about internet marketing is critical for just about every business in today’s economy and spending time setting up and managing a PPC campaign can only help in terms of teaching you how to drive traffic to your website - even if it doesn’t yield the desired results. If you are looking to develop a professional web presence and succeed on the Web, WebFlexor PT specializes in affordable and quality websites for Personal Trainers and Fitness Professionals. How To Make Money Online For Free With Google's Help - Why I Love Google

If you don't already have an account with Google, I suggest you to open one immediately, it's free, and then look at all the features you have at disposition for free in your Google account. I will count only the main ones:

Google AdWords - the fastest way to drive traffic to your website. Unfortunately, it is paid advertising, the competition is very tight, and you may lose money as beginner. I am using it no more, since there are so much free advertising opportunities.
Google AdSense - you allow Google to install ads related to your content on your website, and you are paid when someone clicks on these ads. A lot of people are making a living from AdSense, and it's free. All you need is traffic to your website.

Google Analytics - allows you to track for free the number of visitors to your website and their provenience. All you have to do is to insert a java script code in your web page and it's free.

Google Webmaster Tools - gives you the possibility to register all your websites in Google and to track your back links, among many other features.

Google Bookmarks - allows you to bookmark any web page you like to share with other people with common interests.

Google Profile - you can show to the whole world who are you and to put all your websites, blogs, lenses, hub pages on your profile page.

Blogger - you may open an account for free and you may set up as many blogs you want on whatever theme you want. Of course, you are not allowed to blatantly advertise a product, but you can always link to your sales page in your blog posts. You can also install and AdSense ads in your Blogger blogs and to increase your revenue.

Of course, there are more features, like Gmail, Google Notebook, Google Reader, Google Video, Google Friend Connect, Orkut, Web History, Google Docs, iGoogle, Picassa Web Albums, Google Talk, but I am not going to insist on all of them. You may check them all in your Google account.

The one which I find very useful and I want to tell you about is Google Sites. With a very friendly user platform, does not require HTML skills, just point and click, allows you to choose whatever theme you want and create your own websites for free. Of course, you must respect Google's guidelines, no blatant advertising, no pornography, but these rules are all over the place, in EzineArticles, in Squidoo, in HubPages, and I find them very good. However, as all over the place, you may add a link to your own website, and that's the only thing you need.

Actually, Google Sites is not a new feature, although not many people are using it. What's new is that now you can add AdSense ads on your Google sites. Here you have the greatest advantage, although there is a multitude of benefits in a Google site, like one solid back link to your own website, the possibility of promoting your website for free, the fact that you can notice Google instantly when you are launching a new website and all the exposure you can get from Google itself.

This is why I love Google, because helps me make money online for free. If you want to know more about making money online for free, visit my site.

Google Adsense Follow Our Top Tips To Success

I'm assuming you have been around on the internet for some years now, if so maybe you will remember back in time in when advertisements on websites were very similar to those on TV.

They were even more similar to newspaper advertisements.Remember, right? You'd be surfing sites and somewhere on every page you'd see an ad banner-sometimes these were very prominent banners, and more than one on a page. We know that the banners featured advertisements by the companies who had paid for them.
this was a great idea, but it didn't seem to really exploit the reason that adverts were being uploaded onto the internet, this became a choice over newspapers and there are huge advantages the former mentioned can offer, the first being internet marketing is affordable.I am pretty sure you understand where I am coming from and assume you may have crossed these sites, whilst looking at shops that sell toys and a banner selling motors would appear.

It could well be that someone wants to buy a car at some point, but the problem is if you were looking for toys you would not have clicked on it and probably found it quite annoying.. The staff at Google thought much the same, and, in their usual inimitable way, came up with a great idea. The product of this idea was a targeted advertising program, and it's commonly known as Google AdSense. So to not waste time placing adverts your customers will ignore, what you should be doing as a site owner is to allocate a space on your site page for advertising. After this is finalised you should sign up for a google adsense account, add a few lines of code to your website.

Google will then make sure that your adverts are completely relevant to your web pages and will appear in that section.Google's essentially a search-engine based company. So it's easy for Google to perform this service. It searches out the keywords on your page, searches a database of websites to find the ones matching those keywords and thereby selects an advertisement. You receive a fee for every customer who visits your page and clicks on the adsense banner. This is most likely to happen with google adsense as opposed to the out dated advertisements. I cannot emphasise the importance of the adverts on your page, it will increase your income and can even cover your cost of advertising with pay per click sites.

This is the main reason why Google Adsense is fantastic, all of their advertising banners are completely relevant to the pages they are on.This relevance keeps everyone happy-the advertiser places his ad relevantly, and gains more customers, the webmaster earns money off their websites, Google takes its cut.
